MyVLF is dedicated to connecting readers and authors, helping you re-discover old favourites, know what’s currently hot, and help you discover authors that are new to you.
The MyVLF Book Group is our online book group, hosted in the MyVLF Café. Each month you can download an e-book for free, discuss it in the chat area with other readers and go along to the author interview which will take place in the MyVLF Theatre. You can also set up your own local, real-life MyVLF book group, hosting local friends and taking part in the author chats as a group.
A Price To Pay by Paul Gitsham
Interview and Book Club Chat 7pm Wednesday 17th June.
It should be an easy solve: a murder in broad daylight with two eyewitnesses. But the victim is the son of a notorious local crime family who has a habit of hitting on other men’s wives; the witnesses are Serbian nationals who speak limited English.
For DCI Warren Jones, this is his most challenging case yet. As the suspects pile up, the victim’s family work to protect their son’s memory by destroying any evidence that could betray his criminal past – or might have led to his killer.
Somehow Warren must uncover the truth about the murder – but there are secrets at the heart of the case more dangerous than anyone could have imagined, and the fallout could tear Warren’s team apart…

If you are having trouble downloading the book, we have produced a visual guide to help you.How to get my FREE book
Authors need readers and want to raise their profile to reach new readers, people who haven’t discovered them yet. Offering a free book can be a great way of achieving this. We all have a budget to stick to, and a free book effectively lets you try before you buy. If you download the book and don’t like it, that’s no big deal. You tried something new and didn’t waste your money.
If you like it, then you may go on and buy other books by the same author. They would also very much appreciate it if you would leave them a review on Amazon or Goodreads, or anywhere else that you buy your books. Reviews are incredibly important for writers and while they’re certainly not compulsory, it is a nice way of saying thank you.
As long as you want! Once downloaded, the ebook is yours to keep. However, we will discuss the book with the author on Wednesday 17th June at 7pm, so do join in.
No, see above. It’s yours to keep.
