Prima panel: Intergenerational Female Friendships


We have a fantastic panel of best-selling authors: Jill Mansell, Sheila O’Flanagan and Beth O’Leary, who are going to discuss intergenerational female friendships with Prima magazine commissioning editor, Ella Dove.

Jill Mansell is the author of over twenty Sunday Times bestsellers including This Could Change Everything, Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay, You and Me, Always, The One You Really Want, Three Amazing Things About You and Maybe This Time. Take a Chance On Me won the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Romantic Comedy Prize, and in 2015 the RNA presented Jill with an outstanding achievement award. 

Jill’s personal favourite amongst her novels is Three Amazing Things About You, which is about cystic fibrosis and organ donation; to her great delight, many people have joined the organ donor register as a direct result of reading this novel.

Jill started writing fiction while working in the field of Clinical Neurophysiology in the NHS, but now writes full time. She is one of the few who still write their books by hand, ‘like a leftover from the dark ages’. 

Sheila O’Flanagan is the author of bestselling chart-toppers, including Her Husband’s Mistake, The Hideaway, What Happened That Night, The Missing Wife, My Mother’s Secret and All For You (winner of the Irish Independent Popular Fiction Book of the Year Award). After working in banking and finance for a number of years, Sheila’s love for writing blossomed into curating stories about relationships in all their many formsshe has now written over 20 books. 

Beth O’Leary is a Sunday Times bestselling author whose books have been translated into more than 30 languages and sold hundreds of thousands of copies around the world 

She wrote her debut novel, The Flatshare, on her train journey to and from her job at a children’s publisher. Her second novel The Switch was published in April 2020.  

Beth now lives in the Hampshire countryside and writes full time. 

Ella Rose Dove is Commissioning Editor at Prima, Good Housekeeping and Red magazine. Her debut novel, Five Steps To Happy was published in 2019 by Trapeze.
