Dates for your 2020 Diary

The following literary festivals are all totally FREE to attend.

28th March: Crime and Thriller festival

If you love reading Crime and Thriller books, then it will kill you not to join our fantastic group of best-selling authors at this festival. Watch interviews in the theatre, ask your questions in the chat rooms and network with the writers and fellow book lovers at the end of the festival.

6th June: Historical book festival

Whatever century you enjoy disappearing off to in your fiction world, we will have something for everyone with our dedicated historical fiction festival. Come and talk to the best-selling authors who bring history to life through their extensive research and imaginations.

12th September: Writing festival

We know that readers also make the best writers, so if you’re thinking of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) then join us for this festival where you can learn from some of the best on: how to get started, editing techniques, and what to do once you’ve finished. We’ve also a fantastic writing competition where your start to a novel could win you a consultation  with an award winning literary agent.

31st October: Shiver Fest

As the nights draw in and we curl up for a bit of ‘relaxing’ reading, we celebrate the best of the horror and psychological thriller genres with our Shiver Fest on Halloween. There’s no tricks involved – it’s all treat!

21st November: Book Blogger Awards

Our very popular Book Blogger Awards return in 2020, choose your favourite book bloggers and join us for a celebration of the global reading community.

6th December: Christmas book festival

Take yourself away from the Christmas shopping stress by getting lost in a festive read. MyVLF will bring you news on the Christmas releases and interviews with some of the best-selling authors who will be topping the Christmas charts in 2020.
