MYVLF Author bio: Tess Gerritsen

About Tess Gerritsen

She has sold over 30 million books worldwide in 40 countries, and her novels have been described as ‘pulse-pounding fun’. Tess Gerritsen is an international bestselling author who originally trained as a physician, before publishing her first novel – a romantic thriller – in 1987.

It was to be Tess’s first medical thriller, ‘Harvest’, that got her on to the New York Times bestseller list in 1996; while her series of novels that feature homicide detective, Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles, inspired the television series Rizzoli & Isles on TNT.

Tess now writes full time and has been honoured with several awards, including the Nero Wolfe Award for ‘Vanish’ and the Rita Award for ‘The Surgeon’.

Tess has written nine romantic suspense novels as well as six stand-alone thrillers and 12 in the Rizzoli and Isles series. Her books have been translated into 35 languages.
