Graham Bartlett


Graham Bartlett is the author of the Sunday Times Top Ten Best Seller Death Comes Knocking: Policing Roy Grace’s Brighton, written with international bestselling author Peter James. Having been a police officer for thirty years at Brighton and Hove, ending up as a Police Commander. Throughout his career he has investigated many horrific crimes and became a homicide senior investigating officer.

Graham has advised Peter James for his Roy Grace novels and as well as his previous book written with Peter James has now written Babes in the Wood about the horrific murder of two nine-year-old schoolgirls in 1986 and the behind the scenes investigation to bring the murderer to justice.

As well as his writing, Graham also gives Peter and other authors police procedural advice, providing guidance and feedback at various stages of their novels, as well as advising on the operational sides of policing and other aspects of modern policing for a TV writer who has a police drama in development.

A father of triplets, he joined the force in 1983 following in the footsteps of his father, a long-serving special constable at Brighton, his uncle and his step-brother.
